Privacy Policy — Tiksy TikTok Downloader

Tiksy privacy policy. We don't collect accounts, emails, or download history. IPs are used in memory only for rate limiting and immediately discarded.

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what limited information our service touches, what we never collect, and the rights you have. If something here is unclear, just email us at support@tiksy.app and we will explain.

1. Who we are

Tiksy(the “Service”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is an online tool that lets you fetch no-watermark versions of public TikTok videos, extract their audio, and save photo slideshows. We do not run TikTok, we are not affiliated with TikTok or ByteDance, and we do not host TikTok content on our own servers.

2. The short version

  • We do not require an account.
  • We do not ask for your email, phone, or name.
  • We do not keep a history of what you download.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with advertisers.
  • We use localStorage only for your theme preference (light/dark), and that value never leaves your browser.

3. What we actually process

To keep the Service working and protect it from abuse, our servers briefly process:

  • IP address — used in memory for rate limiting so one user cannot overwhelm the Service. It is never written to a persistent database. Once the rate-limit window expires (typically a few minutes), it is gone.
  • The TikTok URL you paste — used only to fetch the metadata and media file you requested. We do not log a list of URLs you have submitted.
  • Short-lived metadata cache — when we resolve a TikTok link, we cache the resulting metadata in memory for up to 10 minutes so repeated requests for the same video are faster and gentler on upstream APIs. This cache holds the public metadata of the video, not anything about you.
  • Standard request information — like any web server, our hosting provider briefly observes headers such as user-agent and the request IP to deliver the response. We do not maintain our own access logs of your downloads.

4. What we do not collect

  • No user accounts, profiles, or passwords.
  • No email addresses, phone numbers, or real-world identity data.
  • No download history tied to you.
  • No browser fingerprinting.
  • No third-party advertising or marketing trackers.
  • No analytics products that build a cross-site profile of you.

We use Vercel’s privacy-preserving Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count anonymous page views and Core Web Vitals — these are cookieless and do not personally identify you. If we ever add additional analytics, we will list them in our Cookie Policy first.

5. Cookies and local storage

We do not use tracking cookies. We use your browser’s localStorage to remember a single setting — your chosen theme. That value lives only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Third parties we rely on

To deliver the Service, we send the public TikTok URL you provide to one or more upstream extraction APIs, currently tikwm.com and ssstik.io. These third parties resolve the TikTok URL into a direct media link. Their handling of requests is governed by their own privacy policies. We share only what is necessary — typically the TikTok URL itself and the request metadata required to receive a response.

We also rely on Vercel as our hosting provider, running the Service from regions in the United States and Singapore. When you download a file, the actual video bytes stream from TikTok’s own CDN through our proxy endpoint to your browser. We do not store the file.

7. Retention

  • IP addresses used for rate limiting: held in memory only, typically for minutes, then discarded.
  • In-memory metadata cache: up to 10 minutes per video.
  • Downloaded files: never stored. They are streamed and forgotten.
  • Theme preference: stays in your browser until you clear it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe / UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California). These typically include the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses.

Because we do not maintain accounts or store identifiable records about you, in most cases there is simply nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold data about you and want to exercise a right, email support@tiksy.app and we will respond in good faith. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International users

The Service is operated from servers in the United States and Singapore. By using the Service, you understand that your request may be processed in those regions.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

11. Security

No online service is 100% secure, but we minimize risk by minimizing data: we hold almost nothing about you, briefly, in memory, on a hardened hosting platform.

12. Changes to this policy

If we update this Policy, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, post a clear notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
