1. We are a tool, not a host
This is important context. Tiksy is a stateless proxy: when you paste a TikTok link, we ask third-party extraction APIs for the underlying media URL and stream the file from TikTok’s own CDN to your browser. We do not keep a copy of the video, audio, image, or slideshow on our servers. There is no “library” of content on Tiksy to take down.
For that reason, the most effective copyright remedy is usually directly with TikTok, who hosts the original upload. TikTok has its own copyright reporting process at tiktok.com/legal/copyright-policy. Once TikTok removes the upload, the content becomes inaccessible through our Service automatically.
That said, we still want to hear from you and we will act in good faith on valid notices.
2. Designated agent
Send DMCA notices and counter-notices to support@tiksy.app, with the subject line DMCA Notice — Tiksy. Email is the fastest channel and is preferred.
3. How to file a takedown notice
To submit a valid notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), please include all of the following:
- physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (for example, a link to the original TikTok upload, plus a description).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information sufficient for us to locate it (the exact URL or query through our Service that surfaces it).
- contact information — full name, mailing address, telephone, email.
- good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Incomplete notices may be rejected or delayed. Knowingly submitting a false notice can result in legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
4. What we will do
When we receive a valid notice, we will, as appropriate:
- Block the specific TikTok URL or pattern from being processed by the Service.
- Where possible, refer you to TikTok so the original upload can be removed at the source.
- Notify a user we can identify (we generally cannot, since we have no accounts).
5. Counter-notice
If you believe content was wrongly blocked through our Service — for example, because you are the rightful creator, the use is licensed, or it qualifies as fair use — you may submit a counter-notice including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was blocked and the URL where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was blocked as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
6. Repeat infringer policy
We will, in appropriate circumstances, block IPs or otherwise restrict access for users who appear to repeatedly use the Service to infringe copyright. Because we do not maintain accounts, this is necessarily limited to network-level enforcement.
7. Trademarks and other rights
If you believe the Service is being used to infringe a trademark, publicity right, or another non-copyright right, contact us at support@tiksy.app with the same level of detail and we will review.
8. Final note
We are a small operation and review notices in good faith. Please be specific, polite, and patient — and where the underlying issue is content you want removed from TikTok itself, please file with TikTok in parallel. Thank you.
